A major practical need we have at this moment – in taking Shalom Quest forward – is ‘assistance’:

  • Do you have any free time you would be willing to give us regularly – for a while at least?
  • We have several of key areas we need help in, would your skillset match any of them?
  • Does working from home, but not alone – as part of a small, interlinked team appeal to you?
  • Would freedom to plan around your ‘daily time’, to make ‘giving time for SQ’, work for you?
  • Could you give us, the one thing we don’t have – additional help – to get SQ thriving? Thank you
  • We need to stimulate wider interest; drawing people in to use the Shalom Quest resources, to discover their impact, to become enthused, and actively involved – all this needs extra person-power.
  • We need to produce more resources; this growing interest will attract people to Shalom Quest, they will see it’s worth, feel the enthusiasm, and choose to invest – all this raises

– this is the power of assistance –

Need for assistance

The heart of our Shalom Quest ethos is ‘relationship’; so, engaging warmly with people in different ways will be significant in each one of these roles.

Each role could be shared by several people working together if that helps to spread the load, increase the cover, and speed the tasks.

  • Practical administration:
    • Helping to keep the heart of Shalom Quest beating: assisting with emails and phone calls, helping to organise occasional meetings etc.
    • Managing the Shalom Quest film feedback received as appropriate.
  • Fundraising:
    • Alongside our need for ‘assistance’ to enable Shalom Quest to function smoothly, we have the parallel need to fundraise to make our next three foundational films (at £10,000 per film), to financially strengthen the core of what we are doing, as well as raise the money for other supportive side resources.
    • We are trusting that this website itself will help to encourage people to give and invest in Shalom Quest. However, to have several people who can explain the project to others and answer any questions: whether a fund giving trust, a business that wants to support our aims, or an individual who wants to give out of personal generosity – will make the task so much more open and smoother.
  • Enquiries:
    • We have invited people who are ‘lone spiritual seekers’ but would love to join ‘a safe brave space’ to support their journey to contact us and we will try to help them find a Shalom Quest safe brave space that is either local or virtual.
    • Working with those supporting the ‘Convener’s Circle’ (see below) would you be willing to help these ‘lone seekers’ find a Shalom Quest safe brave space?
  • Convener’s Circle:
    • Conveners, those who create the actual or virtual ‘SQ Spaces’, are at the leading edge of Shalom Quest, and they need to know we are there to support them – just an email or ‘phone call away.
    • Monitoring the feedback, we receive from the conveners learning how the project is working on the ground, what further resources would be helpful, possibly revealing issues we hadn’t thought of, or opportunities we hadn’t yet seen.
  • Quarterly newsletter:
    • This regular contact is essential to sustain and grow the network, keeping people’s interest and involvement alive.
    • Pre-planning, gathering data and news, working with the team to get the newsletter out on time, using our mailing list manager.
  • Social media:
    • The opportunity to raise the profile of Shalom Quest, stimulating people to engage spirituality and its questions, ever widening its audience.
    • We would value help from people with expertise and experience with social media; to help us devise strategies and establish a presence, your wisdom and skills would mean a lot.
  • YouTube Channel:
    • Shalom Quest has a YouTube Channel in name only, which needs building from scratch (in harmony with this website). Some people with this expertise would be most welcome
  • Interspirituality Circle:
    • This resource for Shalom Quest is as exciting as it is unique, drawing together representatives from as many global spiritualities and beliefs as possible (see the page Shalom Quest Interspirituality Circle’)
    • We just need a number of people to work with us, making contacts, following them up, and drawing the circle together. Much of the groundwork is already in place, let’s build on it. Our past experience in interspirituality has been thrilling and totally unique. Do get involved!
  • Living Values project:
    • This is currently a small ‘pioneer group’ that meets monthly on Zoom, but has a vision for something truly significant (see the page Shalom Quest Living Values project’), a foundational resource for Shalom Quest, and more
    • Our urgent need is for someone with the technical skills to help us adapt and develop – https://www.thebrain.com – software as the environment within which to build the project

PLEASE get in touch via contact if you are interested to explore and know more about any or all of these, and we will then set up a phone chat together and see how we might take things forward
